Los Angeles and the surrounding coastal area is a shining beacon of glitz and glamour in the great state of California. You only need to visit once, to be hooked - and I certainly was! The year-round warm temperature makes it a perfect place to visit any time of year, although spring is extra-special as the town is still buzzing with the excitement of the Oscars and awards season. Easy access to surrounding areas makes it the perfect place for a multi-destination trip too.

This area is famous for the movies, but there is sooooo much to be enjoyed….arts, culture, history, theatre, sports, outdoor activities, theme parks, the beach and just plain old fun and adventure in abundance! The whole area cries out to be explored and take it from one smitten kitten (me!) that once you have been you will long to go back, time and time AND TIME again!

Sara’s Top 7 Must-do’s In Los Angeles
  1. West Hollywood - Associated with all things hip and happening, from the newest nightspot to the hottest new restaurant in town
  2. Hollywood - Full of old school opulence, movie studio history, and of course the famous Hollywood sign. The Walk of Fame is great for movie and glamour suckers like me!
  3. Beverly Hills - What do I need to say, other than, money, shopping and all things glamorous on Rodeo Drive
  4. Downtown LA - This has undergone a bit of a renaissance of late and is now home to LA LIVE, the Staples Center and is great for sports, events and some fabulous dining and nightlife options.
  5. Further Afield - Head to the coast and within 20 minutes you are in glorious Santa Monica with its world famous pier and promenade, street performers and laid back style synonymous with California
  6. Palm Springs - Alternatively you can also head inland and you are into Palm Springs; a favourite with Hollywood stars of old who had to vacation within easy reach of the big movie studios just in case they were needed.
  7. Coachella - the annual Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival that takes place over two weekends in April. Coachella is famous for its huge music acts, celeb following and is on every festival-goers wishlist. When not in festival season, the surrounding area is also popular with sun seekers and those who want to play on world class golf courses.
